I’m a wife, a boy mom to three awesome guys, and the owner & creator behind the backdrops and signs based in South Florida.

The Basic Birch Co. was born back in 2018 when I was on maternity leave from teaching third grade and was searching for a custom name sign for my son's nursery. This search sparked an interest to try my hand at making wooden signs; one thing led to another, and I'm now a full time maker, living the dream of bringing ideas to life.

BASIC INFO – FAQS

  • Totally! I always provide a full color mock-up of the design before I begin making your sign or backdrop.

  • Unfortunately, no. Mockups take a good amount of time to create and are part of my creative property. Because of this, either a deposit or a full purchase must be made in order to begin the mock-up design process.

  • You are allowed up to 5 mock-up revisions before I will need to add an additional mock-up fee. Because I'm only one person, it's impossible for me to sit at my computer all day revising mockups while also tending to all of the other needs my business requires. Therefore, please make sure to fill out the custom inquiry form thoroughly so that I have a great understanding of exactly what you're looking for to help expedite the mock-up process and keep things seamless.

  • My current turnaround time for signs is 3-4 weeks and backdrop rentals need to be booked at least 4-5 weeks in advance.

  • Depending on my schedule and workload, rushed orders could be possible to do. It may require an additional rush fee, based on the scope of the work that I would need to do for the sign and how much time that would take. Basically, because I take on a certain amount of work per week, rush orders mean that I am working overtime, so my schedule may not always accommodate for that. Best to order as soon as possible, especially if you need shipping!

  • Orders over $300 may place a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due when your sign is ready to be shipped or picked up. Anything under $300 requires a full payment before the mockup process and the production on the piece begins.

    Backdrop rentals always require a 50% deposit to secure the date of the event, with the remainder due no later than 14 days prior to the date of the event.

  • Unfortunately, postal carriers do not always take the greatest care of my packages no matter how many fragile stickers I place on the box. I always do my best to securely wrap and pack each sign to prevent damage, and as an extra precaution I take shipping insurance out on each package just in case. If the package is damaged during transit, please reach out to me as soon as possible so we can discuss your options.

  • In the kindest way, no. Again, once the package is out of my hands and in the postal system's possession, there's nothing I can do. Expected delivery dates are just that, and aren't a guarantee. If you're in need of something for a specific date, please order in adequate time and/or opt for expedited shipping if you are having the sign shipped.

  • Custom backdrops are my jam! If you have an idea, bring it to me and let's make it happen. Or, if you love something I've already done, you are more than welcome to rent a set up you've seen before if it's available for your date. All backdrop rentals include paint color of your choice and custom wood signage to bring your theme together. All signage that is on the backdrop is your to keep after the event is over. Acrylic signage is an additional cost and varies based on color/type of acrylic.

  • My primary delivery locations are Broward, Miami, Palm Beach Counties, and Monroe Counties. Delivery fees are additional to the backdrop rental price and varies based on distance from my home base of Coral Springs.

  • Absolutely! I love pickups because not only do I know the sign will be in good hands, but I get to meet all of you amazing people whom I've been chatting with about your order in person!

  • Nope! I have the ability to create not only 3D wood pieces, but acrylic items as well. Both styles can also be engraved instead of having the 3D lettering look.

  • Most definitely NOT. As a creative, I would never copy another creator's work. If you love something you've seen before and want the same exact sign or backdrop display, I highly recommend finding the maker of that item and work with them. I'm happy to accept photos as inspo to base my design around, but I always come up with my own original design for anything that I make.
